Set forth below is a link to a profoundly alarming resolution which has been introduced in the U.S. House of Representatives and which seeks to formally commit the U.S. Government to an uncompromising, existential fight to the finish with the other mega-nuclear-armed state:

If this resolution were to be adopted by both houses of Congress -- and how many members of Congress would have the courage to vote against it if the leaderships of the House and Senate brought it up for a vote? -- the Science and Security Board of the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists, the custodians of the nuclear-war Doomsday Clock (https://thebulletin.org/doomsday-clock), which since January stands at 90 seconds to midnight, the closest to global catastrophy that it has ever been, would have to move both the minute and second hands very close to midnight.
